HOW DOES IT WORK
With a Skilled Worker visa, you can come to or stay in the UK and do an eligible job with an approved employer. It has replaced Tier 2 (General) work visas as well!
In order to qualify for a Skilled Worker visa, you must:
- have a certificate of sponsorship from your employer
- work for an employer that has been accredited by the Home Office
- do a job that is on the list of eligible occupations
- be paid a minimum salary, which depends on the type of work you are doing.
A Skilled Worker Visa can last for up to five years before you need to extend it. In order to extend or update your visa, you'll need to have applied when their current visa expires or when changing jobs or employers.
